Oct. 5 (Bloomberg) -- The German government led talks to salvage a 35 billion-euro ($49 billion) bailout plan for Hypo Real Estate Holding AG today after the ailing property lender said commercial banks withdrew their support.

International rulemakers are considering changes to financial accounting standards to bring them into line with US rules to help ease transatlantic strains during the current crisis.

Nearly 650 000 new lodgings cannot be sold in Spain
As a result of the real estate crisis in Spain, nearly one third of the 1.8 million lodgings build since 2005 cannot be sold, Spanish daily El Pa?s said.

Among keynote speakers were representatives from mall operator Sonae Sierra, land leasing company Bovis Lend Lease, Europe-facing real estate development and management companies AIG Lincoln, DuPont, Philips and Lafarge, as well as public officials from Romania and the Czech Republic.
